The Value of Your Vote

It was a humbling moment to stand in front of the U.S. Constitution and see the words “We The People” written boldly on this incredible document. A great price was paid by many brave individuals to ensure the freedom and prosperity we now enjoy.

As Christians we are living in transformational and consequential times and we must look ahead with a  bold resolve to stand for truth at this moment in our nation’s history. Political decisions are constantly shaping our culture and Christians should be leading, not following, those in the political process.

In just a few short weeks we will have the opportunity to participate in a most critical election. Washington Eagle Forum joins with other like-minded organizations calling citizens to action for voter participation on November 7.

The value of your vote is that it is your voice, your opportunity to advance truth in this long battle over the moral and cultural issues of our day.

As Christians we do not have the luxury of sitting on the sidelines of history and watching the cultural conflicts that ensue. We must never surrender to a political movement that knows no God and continually undermines biblical principles. Though we face great challenges we must actively engage in the political process.

This may be our generation’s last chance to see a fifth, and decidedly, conservative justice appointed to the U. S. Supreme Court. The importance of holding on to the U.S. Senate and House is critical and will certainly determine the outcome of many battles we have worked so hard on, including protecting marriage, life issues and preserving our national sovereignty, to name just a few.

As a nation we stand in great need of prayer. Prayer is the beginning of a Christians role in public life, it is not the end.

The 2006 mid-term election offers us tremendous opportunities to affect our culture for years to come. We must not squander this precious duty. It is our responsibility – it is our charge.
